TL;DR
Who this map is for.
Choose this engraved four-layer plywood map when you want readable geography, named island groups and clearer delivery documentation. Choose a printed or simpler engraved map if finish or a flatter surface matters more than cartographic density.
Best for and not for
Best for
- Travel-story buyers who want engraved cities, borders and named island groups on a layered wooden map
- Gift buyers who need documented sizes, languages and accessories before ordering
- EU buyers, and named non-EU destinations, who want VAT and customs treatment written down
Not for
- Anyone who needs a navigation or teaching map rather than decorative wall art
- Renters who cannot use adhesive on a smooth painted wall
Pros and cons
What holds up
- Current documentation lists four plywood layers, seven languages and five main widths from 120 × 60 cm (47 × 24 in) to 300 × 150 cm (118 × 59 in)
- Engraved country names, cities, borders and selected subdivisions are specified where space permits, with 56 included island groups
- Installation support includes mounting stencils, double-sided tape and instructions
- EU VAT-inclusive orders and named non-EU customs handling are documented more clearly than a generic worldwide claim
Limits
- This review does not include laboratory durability testing
- Small countries, islands and labels can be omitted or reduced on smaller sizes
- Destination charges can still apply outside the documented EU and named non-EU cases

What this map is
The 68travel 3D Wooden World Map is a four-layer engraved plywood world map. The current family is sold in five main widths, seven listed languages and several editions. Accessories can change the finished height, so the size label is not the complete wall footprint.
It is wall decor with useful geography, not a chart for navigation or classroom accuracy. Treat omitted micro-states, compressed labels and size-dependent detail as expected on a decorative cut map.
Geographic detail
The product record lists engraved country names, cities, borders, USA states, Canadian provinces and Australian states where space permits. It also lists 56 included named island groups. Those figures come from manufacturer documentation checked on 6 September 2026. They are not an independent count of every visible label on every size.
This is the strongest reason to choose the family: the map is meant to be read up close, pointed at and extended with islands or markers. If you mainly want a colour-blocked silhouette, a simpler engraved or printed surface can be easier to live with.
Construction and installation
The documented construction is four plywood layers with an adhesive installation kit: mounting stencils, double-sided tape and instructions. Plan a clear wall, a clean smooth surface and enough time to place smaller islands after the continents. The sampled installation guidance does not make this a rental-safe, damage-free or wallpaper-safe system.
Wood tone, grain and layer shadows are part of the display. They also mean the map will not look like a continuous printed poster.
Delivery, taxes, returns and warranty
68travel documents worldwide destination coverage with shipping calculated at checkout. For EU orders, current policy describes VAT-inclusive treatment and no import customs. Named major non-EU destinations have documented handled procedures or no-customs treatment. Local VAT, duties or carrier fees can still apply elsewhere.
Wooden maps and decorations currently have a 90-day return or exchange window from receipt. Other products use a 30-day window. November and December orders extend until the end of January of the next year. Personalised maps with custom engraving, colours or sizes are not returnable.
Who should choose something else
Choose a printed full-colour map if continuous painted geography matters more than engraved labels. Choose a magnetic or framed display if you cannot commit to adhesive on a painted wall. Compare this family with Enjoy The Wood when a brighter Multicolor finish or a simpler Prime surface is the real decision.
Related scored comparisons use the same product record. They do not replace measuring the finished width in centimetres (with inches in parentheses) against your wall.
